About

About SF First Thursdays

SF First Thursdays is a monthly, self-guided art walk connecting galleries, artist-run spaces, and local businesses across the Tenderloin and Lower Nob Hill.

Mission

Accessible, independent, and artist-run

Our mission is to create an accessible platform where artists and creative spaces can present work, connect with new audiences, and contribute to the vibrant, independent arts scene in San Francisco.

Each month, SF First Thursdays brings together participating galleries and creative venues for a shared evening of art, culture, and community. Visitors can use the map to explore the route at their own pace.

Route

Tenderloin + Lower Nob Hill

The art walk highlights creative spaces within the Tenderloin and Lower Nob Hill, making it easier for visitors to move between galleries, storefronts, artist-run spaces, and cultural venues.

The goal is simple: make the neighborhood’s arts ecosystem easier to discover, while keeping the experience open, walkable, and welcoming.

Organization

Managed locally

The art walk is currently managed by Low Key Skate Shop and funded by a mini grant from the SF Office of Economic Workforce Development (OEWD).

The funds are dispersed through the Tenderloin Community Benefit District.
